This new-build landscape was designed to feel welcoming without calling attention to itself. Thoughtful planting layout balances the organized arrangement of hedging with the chaotic dis-arrangement of native beauty.
Home - the value that mattered most through design iterations; no matter what we came up with, it needed to feel like home. We mixed expected arrangements like ornamental tree placement and a hedge lines with unexpected arrangements- like connecting the house beds with the back yard beds and a cable lattice. The connected beds between the house and retaiing wall are spanned with a flagstone path and creeping jenny ground cover. Benches, an evergreen screen and steps to the neighbor solidifies this yard's presence with it's neighbors.
Working hand-in-hand with the home builder, we worked together to bring this home to life. We installed retaining wall and drainge systems to establish the yard, cut in and planted landscape beds, and finished with sod and irrigation.
